Jon
Bates
I
have been in the health and fitness business for over fourteen years.
I have worked in every aspect of the industry. I have been involved
in sales and marketing, managing as well functioning as a fitness
coordinator. However, my favorite aspect of the health and wellness
field is personal training. As a trainer, I have had the opportunity
to directly touch peoples lives in a positive way.
I have worked in the Northern Virginia area for a large group of clubs;
one of which was voted in the top ten in the country. I moved to Naples
in the winter of 1996 and worked with Naples Fitness Center. I then
moved to Powerhouse Gym in order to help open and manage that facility.
I continue to have a large client base there. In addition I was involved
in opening the fitness center at Fiddlers Creek, a large upscale country
club development in Naples. While at Fiddlers Creek I acted as Fitness
Coordinator and Head Personal Trainer. I have recently realized a
long time dream of mine, opening my own personal training business.
My certifications include: ACE (American Council on Exercise), ISSA
(International Sports Science Association), AAA (American Aerobic
Association), Madd Dog Athletics and The American Heart Association
(CPR). In addition, I am a member of IDEA Health and Fitness Association.
My mission is to coach people and help them improve their relationship
with their health and well being. As our life spans increase, my desire
is to help my clients have an increased quality of life through exercise
and proper nutrition.

In 1998, Anthony moved to Orlando, Florida to work in the television and film industry. After six years on the set and behind the cameras, Anthony realized that this was not the lifestyle suited for him. As a result, he decided to go back to what truly made him happy, personal training. His first step in achieving his dream of working in the health and fitness industry was to obtain his Master Personal Training Certificate from the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) in Orlando, Florida. Here he finished in the top 5 percent of his class. Secondly, Anthony was determined in becoming a Certified Fitness Trainer by the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) once again. Just as these goals were achieved, currently, Anthony is striving to finish a certification to become a Specialist in Performance Nutrition, SPN through ISSA.
As a final note, for the past ten years, Anthony’s clientele widely ranges from competing bodybuilders to high school athletes to post-surgery patients. He has extensive knowledge in circuit training, small group training, and agility and speed training.
